"Las Canteras Beach" is a long tongue of sand, occupying about 3800 metres of coastline, which extends across the bay.
Las Canteras is one of the best urban beaches in the country and in the world, as it is a beach with good weather almost all year round. The place in the capital to relax, where time stands still and where you can do sport any day of the week, bringing swimwear, bikini, goggles and snorkel, beach paddles (beach rackets) or surfboard.

Furthermore, it is a great marine life reserve. Its seabeds are home to a thousand types of fish. On land, it is a refuge for walkers, fishermen and surfers. And it has a special peculiarity. This peculiarity is what locals call "La Barra", a long rocky formation that spreads out not far from the sand and protects much of the beach from the tides, transforming itself into a natural saltwater pool at low tide. And if you fancy a walk, we recommend the long promenade that winds continuously along the sand, weaving past cafés and ice cream parlours. At the start of the promenade you will find the terraces of La Puntilla and fresh fish restaurants. At the other end of the beach, the surfing atmosphere around the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium, with more terraces and cafés facing the sea.
Las Canteras is the Changing Beach. It will never be the same place as the day before. It will be completely different. And that is another of its peculiarities. It remains always in the same place, but it always looks different.
